How to Easily Import Your Custom Data in Bulk

If you keep important business information stored in custom data fields, importing and updating that data just got much easier. You can now bring in large amounts of custom records in one go, helping you save time and keep everything organized without hassle.

📌 Why This Matters

Managing your business data efficiently can feel overwhelming, especially when dealing with many records at once. Bulk importing custom data means you don’t have to enter everything manually one by one. It also helps prevent errors by handling duplicates carefully, so your information stays accurate and up-to-date.

✨ What’s New

  • Create, Update, or Both: Choose whether to add new custom data, update existing records, or do both in a single import.
  • Duplicate Handling: Automatically prevent duplicate entries by using unique fields to keep your data clean.
  • Control Blank Cells: Decide if blank fields in your import should overwrite existing information or be ignored.
  • Progress Tracking: See the status and results of your import with success and error reports for peace of mind.

🛠️ How to Use It

  1. Step 1: Go to the custom data section and select the import option.
  2. Step 2: Upload your CSV file containing the data you want to import.
  3. Step 3: Choose your import mode:
    • Create only – adds new records.
    • Update only – modifies existing records (requires record ID).
    • Create + Update – updates existing records if found, otherwise creates new ones.
  4. Step 4: Map the columns from your CSV to your custom fields, then review and start the import.
  5. Step 5: Track the import progress and view detailed results in the bulk actions section.

🧠 Duplicate and Unique Field Logic

If your custom data includes unique identifiers, you’ll select one to match against and prevent duplicates. If another unique field conflicts during import, that record will not be imported to keep your data reliable.

⚠️ Notes

Currently, you can import only one type of custom data at a time. Support for importing multiple types simultaneously will be available down the road.

💡 Pro Tip

Regularly updating your business data using bulk import helps improve accuracy, which can lead to better customer communication and smarter decision-making that impacts your revenue.
