Keep Your Team in the Loop with CRM Notifications

Keeping your team informed shouldn’t depend on manual messages or remembering to tag the right person. With this CRM update, you can send internal notifications not only to the main assigned user, but also to people following a contact or sales opportunity, helping everyone stay on the same page when important activity happens.

📌 Why This Matters

In many small businesses, more than one person helps move a sale forward. A front desk team member may answer the first inquiry, a salesperson may handle the quote, and an owner or manager may step in to close the deal. When updates only go to one person, things can get missed. This feature helps your team stay informed automatically, so follow-up happens faster and customers get a better experience.

✨ What’s New

  • Notify followers on records: You can include people who follow a contact, a sales opportunity, or both when sending an internal notification.
  • Opportunity owner option: You can also choose the opportunity owner as a notification recipient from the user type options.
  • No duplicate alerts: If the same person matches more than one recipient rule, they will only receive one notification.
  • Works across channels: Notifications can be sent by email, in-app notification, SMS, and WhatsApp, depending on the contact details available for each user.

🛠️ How to Use It

  1. Step 1: Open the internal notification action inside your workflow.
  2. Step 2: Choose who should receive the main notification using the user type setting, such as the assigned user or opportunity owner.
  3. Step 3: Turn on contact followers, opportunity followers, or both to include everyone who is actively following that record.
  4. Step 4: Save and test the workflow so your team gets notified when a lead replies, submits a form, or moves to another sales stage.

📎 Good to Know

  • Follower options work together: You can turn on contact followers and opportunity followers at the same time.
  • Notifications are sent when the workflow runs: The system checks the current followers at that moment.
  • Missing opportunity records are handled automatically: If there is no active opportunity tied to the workflow, the main selected recipient will still get the notification.
  • Channel availability matters: If a follower does not have the required email address or phone number for that notification type, they will be skipped for that channel.
  • Existing notification actions stay the same: Anything you already set up will continue working unless you choose to update it.

💡 Pro Tip

Use follower notifications on lead reply and quote request workflows so the right team members can respond faster, which can help you close more sales without adding extra admin work.
