You can now make voice calls from your CRM using a phone number you already own, which makes it much easier to get started without paying for another number first. If you already have a business line customers recognize, you can verify it, test calling quickly, and begin using the calling feature with less setup.
📌 Why This Matters
For many small business owners, the extra step of buying a separate phone number can slow things down or create unnecessary cost. This option lets you start with the number your customers already know, keep your caller ID familiar, and begin using calling tools faster. It is especially helpful if you want to follow up on leads, return missed inquiries, or handle customer conversations from one place.
✨ What’s New
- Use your current phone number: You can verify a phone number you already own and use it as your caller ID for outbound calls from the CRM.
- Faster setup: You can verify your number in about a minute instead of buying a separate number before making your first call.
- One-time identity check for contact calling: After your first test call, you will complete a one-time ID check with a government ID and selfie before calling contacts.
- Caller ID management: You can review your verified caller ID settings and turn on options like call recording.
- Works alongside your regular phone service: Incoming calls still ring your existing phone as usual, and you can keep using that number outside the CRM too.

🛠️ How to Use It
- Step 1: Open the dialer in your CRM. If you do not have a purchased phone number connected, choose the option to use your existing phone number.
- Step 2: Enter the business phone number you want to show as your caller ID for outgoing calls.
- Step 3: Answer the verification call sent to that number and enter the 6-digit code to confirm you own it.
- Step 4: Make a test call to your own number to confirm everything is working correctly.
- Step 5: Complete the one-time identity verification using a government ID and selfie if you want to place calls to your contacts.
- Step 6: To manage your verified number later, go to your phone settings and review the Verified Caller ID section. From there, you may also be able to enable call recording.
- Step 7: If this option needs to be turned on first in your account, check the feature settings area and activate it before starting.
💡 Pro Tip
Use your existing business number for follow-up calls so more customers recognize who is calling and are more likely to answer, helping you turn more inquiries into booked jobs or sales.
